Statistics

Markdown

Statistics shows how people find and buy your guides: visits to your sales pages, guide opens, checkout clicks and purchases, day by day. It is the last of the main rows in the studio sidebar, and it appears there once one of your guides has been published. It shows counts, never money: amounts are on Sales.

The Guide menu

The menu at the top right picks what the page counts:

  • All guides, the default, adds up all of your guides in one box, Your guides at a glance.
  • A guide's name narrows the page to that guide, in Traffic and conversion, and adds where its visitors come from.

The menu lists every guide that has ever been published, archived ones included, so their history stays. Your choice is kept in the page's address, so a reload or a saved link opens the same guide.

Your guides at a glance

Views, opens and sales across all of your guides. The chart, Daily views across your guides, draws the views per day, and the four totals sit under it. This box adds up the guides the menu lists, those that have been published; a draft's numbers stay out, so previewing a draft adds no guide open here.

Traffic and conversion

The same numbers for one guide, across every sales page it has, in every language. The chart is Daily sales-page views. The numbers are per guide: they are not split by sales page.

The period and the totals

A toggle at the top right of the box switches between a shorter and a longer period of days. It starts on the shorter one each time you open the page. The chart and the four totals follow it: each total is the sum over the period, and the small line under it is its trend from day to day.

What each number counts

NumberWhat it counts
ViewsVisits to the guide's published sales pages. The same browser opening the same page again soon after counts once.
Guide opensTimes a signed-in reader opened the guide, on the web or in the Sceniq app: buyers, and you when you preview it. The same reader opening it again within a short time counts once.
Checkout clicksPresses on a sales page's buy buttons, which open the checkout. The same browser pressing again on the same page soon after counts once. A page in another language, which sends buyers to its English page to pay, counts no clicks.
PurchasesPurchases paid that day, including ones refunded later. A purchase that is under dispute when its day is counted is left out.

Your own visits to your sales pages and presses on their buy buttons count like anyone's. On the web, visitors whose browser asks sites not to track them (Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control) are left out of views, clicks and opens. Purchases always count. Purchases counts the same purchases as the Succeeded, Partial refund and Refunded payments on Sales.

When the numbers arrive

Statistics are counted once a night, one whole day at a time. Days run from midnight to midnight UTC. Today is never in the numbers, and yesterday's arrive shortly after midnight UTC. A day without activity counts as zero. When the whole period has none, the chart reads No activity in this range yet instead of drawing a line at zero.

Traffic sources

Only for a single guide, at the foot of its box: bars for the top sources of the guide's sales-page views in the last 90 days, the largest first. Beside a source's views, the purchases made through it in the same days, when there are any, for example 3 purchases.

  • A source with utm tags shows as its utm_source, followed by its utm_medium when there is one: ?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=bio shows as instagram / bio. Tags are read in lower case.
  • A view without a source shows as Direct / organic.

A view does not always count under the link it came through. The visitor's browser remembers the first tagged link it arrived through on one of your sales pages, for several weeks, and every later view of your pages in that time counts under that first source, whatever the new link says. A purchase counts under the same source. Each creator's links are remembered apart, so another creator's link never takes over your views.

When the guide had no views in that time, the box says so in place of the bars. A guide with very many views has its sources worked out from its most recent views, and a note under the bars says so.

Tag the links you share in your bio, posts and ads to see which of them bring visitors. The Marketing playbooks show where those links go.

Before your first guide is live

Until a guide has been published, the page shows Statistics start when your first guide is live in place of the menu and the charts.
